Hi, I’m Su Jiamu, a Ph.D. student in Sociology at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU).
My research interests include:
- Media sociology (정보사회학)
- Social networks (소셜네트워크)
- Computational sociology (컴퓨테이션 사회학)
- Global and transnational sociology (글로벌 사회학)
- Comparative sociology (비교사회학)
My current research uses social network analysis to study K-pop fandoms. I examine how the horizontal and hierarchical structures observed within these fandoms can be understood from a cultural perspective, as well as the mechanisms through which cross-fandom connections form. I am also interested in combining agent-based modeling (ABM) with social network analysis for social-science simulations and the identification of causal mechanisms.
